Always looking to advance the services we can provide, in 1992 the Byron Veterinary Clinic commissioned the new headquarters on Nuthall Road. This represents the first purpose built private veterinary practice in the city and provides improved facilities for animal patients and clients. We have helpful and welcoming staff whose aim is to help you and your pet through your time with us in an efficient and friendly manner.
The modern facility on Nuthall Road, Nottingham has a large private off-road car park, disabled facilites, Ultrasound diagnosis, three consulting rooms, X-ray facilities, dedicated operating theatre, ECG heart monitor, blood biochemistry, electrolyte and haematology analysers, heated animal ward, dental care area, isolation ward, pulse oximetry, and isoflurane anaesthesia . We also welcome exotic pets and birds of all types.

Consultations at the clinic are from 9:30 am - 6:30 pm - All consultations are by appointment. Clients without an appointment are always welcome and will be seen at the first available time. Long Eaton Branch - Our Long Eaton branch surgery is located at 193, Derby Road, directly opposite College Street. We consult here Monday - Friday between 9am and 10am, and again from 5.00pm to 6.30pm. Appointments are not required. The branch can be contacted on 0115-9734659. When the clinic is not open, calls are automatically transferred to Nuthall Road.
Please park on Elm Avenue, 50yds west of the Surgery.
24 hour emergency service - Our out-of-hours emergency service cover is now being provided by Vets Now, who specialise in accident and emergency care. Please phone the surgery on 0115 9244117 and follow the instructions on the answerphone. A leaflet outlining the services of Vets Now is available from Byron Veterinary Clinic.
Prescriptions - Repeat prescriptions will be limited to a maximum of one month's medication. Animals are not permitted to remain on medication without professional examination for more than three months. All repeat prescriptions must be authorised by a vet. To avoid delay, a prior telephone call would allow us to check availability of the medicine and authorise the prescription for collection.
The history of Byron Veterinary Clinic stretches back over a century when city vets were kept busy administering to horses, the major mode of transport. The name links to the thirty year period when the practice was based in one of the Georgian Terrace houses on St. James Street, just a few doors from where Lord Byron had spent some of his formative years. The practice logo recalls the bond between Lord Byron and his Newfoundland Hound Boatswain, which is remembered in the famous statue at Newstead Abbey.
