We pride ourselves in being one of the few pubs in the city of Nottingham that embody all the characteristics of a traditional English pub.
We are an owner-operated family freehold, offering friendly and efficient service, choice and quality, value-for-money - and an abundance of character and ambience. Why go anywhere else?
We aim to be one of Nottingham's finest pubs, offering quality, choice and value in a wide range of products including continental-style lagers, traditional real ales and freshly prepared & wholesome food.
A warm welcome is assured at all times!
The Trent Navigation Inn is a traditional, yet modern establishment. Whilst retaining many of the surviving original features, it has been enhanced with modern features and facilities in order to ensure it meets the needs of today's discerning customers and to guarantee its survival for many years to come. Its hallmark is quality & choice in food and drinks at affordable prices, for adults and children to enjoy in safe and comfortable surroundings.

The Trent Navigation Inn began life in the early 1800s as an inn serving the needs of workers and visitors travelling the nearby canals. The long stable block behind the pub was built to accommodate the horses that were used to tow the canal boats. In the latter part of the nineteenth century the pub was acquired by the great London brewers Truman, Hanbury & Buxton (est. 1666), and supplied through their brewery in Burton-on-Trent. The Trent Navigation Inn is the only one of the Truman estate remaining today in Nottingham
Plans for the full development of the Trent Navigation Inn site consist of several phases, with realisation envisaged in 2-3 years. Phase 1, now complete, consists of the refurbishment of the ground floor public house & associated facilities - The Trent Navigation Inn itself. The subsequent phases include the installation of a microbrewery, conference rooms, a visitor's centre, retail shops and rental accommodation.

This fine old pub, in the midst of Nottingham's sports district, is situated on the westernmost end of Meadow Lane near the canal (just north of where the canal enters the Trent River) and adjacent to the Notts County Football Club. It is walking distance to Nottingham Forest Football Club and Trent Bridge Cricket Club. Besides the many nearby sporting events, the Trent Navigation Inn will aim to host its own events such as beer festivals, live music, food fairs, etc.
